May

May was a great month for us!  Tulip Time was a fun way to start the month, and we saw much of Dan's family this month as well as my mom.  We've also been soaking in the warm weather with walks, runs, bike rides and playing at the park.  Going to the park is a new thing for the girls and me.  Last summer I don't think I took them even one time (by myself) because Lydia couldn't walk, and I was pregnant with Clara.  This summer is much different as Lydia is quite fearless of the playground and the bigger kids :)
Running the Klompen Classic 5K as a family!  We love kicking off Tulip Time this way.  Our grandparents even showed up to cheer us on!  Made us think back to our grade school track meets :)

First bath together!  A moment I've been looking forward to.

Who knew 3 inches of water could bring such happiness :)

April Wind

What a fun spring we've had so far!  A good portion of our garden is planted, and our whole family is loving time outside playing with Tucker, going on walks/runs, swinging and playing ball.  It has been so windy this month (some days even 40. 50 or 60 mph winds!), so some days we don't go out much even if it is warm and sunny.

Lydia:
-What does the horse say? "Hay!" Well, that's probably what it's thinking.
-She continues to love lots of foods, but her go-to to always "Coookie"
-Starting to interacting more with Clara like making her giggle and playing peek-a-boo with her.
-Laughs at her own jokes which nobody else understands.

Clara:
-Sitting up with confidence...finally!
Rocking back and forth on her hands and knees...not yet!
-Loves to eat.
-Loves to play with Lydia.

Here's a few shots of what we've been up to.

"Farming together" - their grandpas and great-grandpas would be proud :)

Lydia to Clara, "Come. Come."

1.5 seconds later. "Nooooo!"

Watching daddy till the garden up.

A machine this size makes quick work of tilling our garden and corn patch!

...and after!  This was a big week for her because she turned 5 years old just a few days after her first hair cut!
