August was a fun month full of activities! We had the Youth Group over for a hot dog roast and yard games early in the month to kick off our new year. We're looking forward to spending our Wednesday nights with this group. Derek came to Pella for a weekend, so we enjoyed spending some time with him, and he also helped us take down wallpaper! Towards the end of the month John and his girlfriend, Anika, came down for a visit. It was great to FINALLY meet this girl we've been hearing so much about ;)
This month was also filled with a lot of canning and painting. There were many days where I would get salsa cooking during the day, then after Lydia went to bed in the evening we would process the salsa and head upstairs for a few hours of painting. As of today, all the upstairs bedrooms are painted except for one of the closets! We're coming down the home stretch! Once we're finished with the bedrooms I plan to officially start "nesting" :) Just a few more weeks until we meet our baby girl!
