Baptism

This past Sunday we were privileged to witness Lydia's baptism.  What a special day in her life!  It was also wonderful to have family and friends join us in celebrating.

Lydia is 2 months old now and continues to bring so much joy into our lives.  She has been smiling a lot and trying out her voice too.  She has found her hands and will suck on them so loudly that you can hear it from another room!  At her 2 month appointment she was 58th percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height!  Her eyes are looking more blue every day and her hair is staying brown.  We'll see if it changes in the upcoming months!

Looking a little pouty in her pink outfit.

Baby clothes on the line :)

Vacation to Washington

This month we spent some time in Washington state visiting Dan's Uncle Tom and Aunt Karlene and their three kids Alivia, Grant and Jenna.  We had a wonderful time site-seeing while also enjoying lots of time together with family.  (Thanks Karlene for all the great pictures!)

Road Trip

We had another niece born a couple weeks ago (July 23), so the three of us went up to NW Iowa this past weekend to meet little Elsie. Our first car ride together that lasted longer than 30 minutes went pretty well, but Lydia was definitely sick of being in her car seat by the end of each leg of the journey. We made it safely though, and had a great time seeing family from each side on our quick trip.

On a lesser note, we made the big move to the farm this past Tuesday! We had great help from church and work friends, so it went fast and smooth. We are still waiting to move some furniture onto the new wood floor because it isn't completely cured yet, so we will put pictures up as we get things moved around and in order. We are already loving it out here on the farm and are looking forward to making many memories out here in the beautiful countryside.
