Cheerios

Lydia is now 8 months old, and she is loving new foods.  Cheerios are a favorite for her, and no matter what mood she is in she will always open her mouth WIDE for a cheerio :)  Lydia and I made a quick trip to do some dress shopping with my younger sister Abby who recently got engaged, and we also made a stop in Sanborn on the way home.  A couple weekends ago we enjoyed going to the University of Iowa for Derek's volleyball tournament.

Dan has been working on putting up new lights in the house. He started in the basement, and now he is working in the library (NW room on the main floor).  This means that the yellow room (NW room upstairs) gets new carpet. Yay!

Lydia's younger cousin, Elsie.

Her first cheerio from Grandma Hanenburg!

Her first time sledding.

She wasn't terribly excited about it :)
Reading the newspaper with dad.

Once she picks it up, she isn't quite sure what to do with it...

So it's easier to just bend over and lick it up!

8 months old!
Once again trying to lick up the cheerio.

It's very frustrating when it's out of reach!

More cheerios...

Derek's volleyball tournament.  I'm enjoying some of the new settings on my camera.  The following is a series of pictures showing Derek's jump serve.

The ball boy and ball girl.

Helping daddy rip up carpet.

Well, that wasn't too hard!

Gazing out the window.

Very focused.

Checking to see if mom put the ceiling fan on.

Maybe she turned this one on...

It's too bad this picture can't capture the loud sound coming out of her mouth right now!

Dad said I would be safe in here, but I'm not so sure!
